The computer-based GRE General Test is given year-round at various exam centers in the United States, Canada, and many other countries. The paper-based exam is given only during certain times each year, and at limited locations.
Use the exam center location tool on the ETS website to locate your nearest examination center. Make an appointment as soon as possible so that you can register to take the exam at a time and place of your choice.
The paper-based exam is offered in locations where computer-based testing is not available. When registering to take a paper-based GRE exam, pay special attention to the application deadline and the registration receipt dates at ETS.
